SCLATER, Grizel Elizabeth Catherine, born in Perthshire in 1944.  A Church of England Foundation Governor.  Worked in the Clerk’s Department of the House of Commons 1967-2005 and was personal secretary to the Clerk of the House of Commons and latterly its Chief Executive for 21 years with responsibility for the supervision of the Department’s personal secretaries and for certain papers required for the business of the House.  Awarded the MBE in recognition of services to Parliament in 1995.  Married in 1985 to John Sclater whose family have been in Newick for about 200 years.
