Healthy Schools
As a health promoting school, Newick CE Primary School is committed to encouraging and developing attitudes towards food and a healthy diet. As a school we know that food is fundamental to the quality of a child’s life, not just in providing essential nutrition but in communicating and sharing positive values, attitudes and experiences and each other.
We are proud to announce that in February 2022 we achieved our Healthy School Status.

Cookery Club
Miss Kinderman runs a cookery club where the children create a main dish and a dessert. The children lay the table and we all eat together. It is a really lovely opportunity to share healthy food together as a group.

Healthy Eating
School Council launched a competition where they asked the pupils at Newick School to draw a Healthy Eating poster to display around the school. The winners were announced in a whole school collective worship led by the School Council.
The winning posters can be seen below.
The posters were created by Lydia Thompson and Jack Utley.
Healthy Eating Poster
Year 1 had a visit from our local Chartwell Nutritionist Abbey. Abbey visited us to talk about 'Where Our Food Comes from' in order to support the topic of 'Farm to Fork'. The year 1 class had a fantastic time completing activities based on where their food comes from.
