Curriculum Aims
Wisdom - Our children will have the knowledge, skills and vocabulary that enhance their understanding about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth's physical and human processes and how they have changed over time.
Independence - Our children will be able to collect, analyse and communicate information and independently apply their knowledge, skills and processes.
Creativity - Through geography, our children will communicate geographical information in a variety of unique ways.
Kindness - Our children will understand about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
Our bespoke curriculum was developed using resources and materials from a range of sources, including the Geographical Association and the Royal Geographical Society.
At Newick, we love to develop our pupils' geographical knowledge and skills. We ask engaging enquiry questions to promote curiosity and fascination with our planet's physical and human features. Regularly, we relate our learning to scale; developing over the course of their primary education a sense of their place in the world and how this compares with life experiences in other locations.
We encourage our young people to ask, 'What's it got to do with me?'
