Wisdom - We want to equip our children with the knowledge, skills and vocabulary that develop competence and confidence in a wide range of physical activities.
Independence - We want our children to seek to develop and excel in competitive sports and other physical activities, which supports their health and fitness.
Creativity - to perform physical activities that help to build character.
Kindness - to understand about what it is to lead a healthy and active life and help others around them achieve this too. Through physical education, help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
At Newick, we follow a highly regarded scheme of work from The PE Hub. This provides a hub of high quality planning and resources, enabling teachers to deliver PE lessons at an excellent standard, whilst ensuring a clear progression of skills and knowledge in the subject. Children begin by learning key sporting skills and physical development in Early Years and Key Stage 1. In Key Stage 2, children then move onto learning and taking part in specific sports.
