RE Curriculum Overview 2024-2025
Principle Aim
The principle aim of religious education is to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live, so that pupils can gain the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to handle questions raised by religion and belief, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living.
Our RE Curriculum- RE Today Faith in the 21st Century, incorporates the Understanding Christianity units which have a theological rooted Christian vision.
This curriculum enables children to leave school with a coherent understanding of Christian belief and practice. Children explore the significant theological concepts within Christianity as part of developing their wider religious theological and cultural literacy.
Curriculum Aims
Wisdom - We want to equip our children with the knowledge, skills and vocabulary allow them to understand the beliefs of others.
Independence - We want our children to seek to develop those big questions in RE.
Creativity - Think about how RE may factor into other areas of the curriculum.
Kindness - to understand and appreciate the beliefs of others and show respect and kindness for those beliefs.
