Stiances Archaeological Project

Over the last fifteen years, the school has been lucky enough to be involved with the award-winning Stiances Archaeological Project, led by Senior Archaeologist at UCL, Simon Stevens.

Taking place every three years, this involves every child in the school taking part in a real-life archaeological dig in a local field to uncover what remains of Stiances cottage – the childhood home of former pupil and First World War casualty, Richard Henry Page.

In 2025, each class spent a day in Stiances field, getting fully involved with digging, cleaning and sorting finds.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Simon Stevens and his team for providing such a unique opportunity for our children and we look forward to 2028!
